3. DISPOSAL & DESTRUCTION OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

Course Provided an overview of the requirements for disposal and destruction of classified information as addressed in DoD Manual 5200.01, Volume 3, "DoD Information Security Program: Protection of Classified Information." Identifies what types of classified information are authorized to be destroyed, why classified
information must be destroyed, who is authorized to destroy it, when it must be destroyed, and the methods available for its destruction.

5. CPARS FOR DOD CONTRACTORS

The course discussed the policy behind CPARS and a breakdown of the CPARS workflow process. It explained how to effectively respond to an evaluation, with a special emphasis on developing accurate and comprehensive narratives,  run reports in the View Performance Records section of CPARS to include responding to FAPIIS records and important points of contact and reference materials available for the user.

6. OPSEC AWARENESS FOR MILITARY MEMBERS, DoD EMPLOYESS
    AND CONTRACTORS

The course provided OPSEC awareness for military members, government employees, and contractors and provided information on the basic need to protect unclassified information about operations and personal information to ensure safe and successful operations and personal safety.

7. INSIDER THREAT AWARENESS

This course addressed each of the individual insider threat awareness training requirements identified in DoD policy and the National Minimums Standards for Insider Threat Programs.

 

The course utilized case study scenarios to portray concerning behaviors and potential risk indicators which highlight actions and behaviors that can signify an insider threat.

 

The instruction promoted a proactive approach to reporting the suspicious activities.

8. MARKING SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

This course provided the requirements and methods for marking special categories of classified information. Lessons addressed general marking requirements, marking special types, and categories of materials and information.

9. COUNTERINTELLIGENCE AWARENESS AND REPORTING
    FOR DOD CI116.16

Department of Defense (DOD) Components are required by DOD Directive 5240.06 to provide Counterintelligence Awareness and Reporting training to all personnel within 30 days of initial assignment, or employment to the Component, and every 12 months thereafter.  Our personnel learned how to:

 

  • ​Identify the threats and methods of Foreign Intelligence Entities

  • Recognize the Foreign Intelligence Entities use of Cyber Attacks

  • Describe the Insider Threat

  • Identify intelligence and security anomalies

  • Understand Counterintelligence Awareness and Reporting requirements
